Ontario Canada 2012 Vacations - The Loralea is your cozy Ontario holiday spot for summer, a winter family vacation or weekend getaways in housekeeping cottages for rent located on Halls Lake in the Haliburton Highlands, central Ontario, Canada.
The Loralea is your four season family resort comprised of seven cottages or studio cabins, private beach setting with safe swimming area, boat docks, fire pits, play grounds, shuffleboard, badminton, horseshoe pits and volleyball area.
We have a great set up for hosting family reunions and group gatherings. Groups from 20 to 30 people end up renting the whole resort which results in a private setting for groups to enjoy their outing with their own beach area for swimming, water skiing or just playing in the sand.... build some sand castles. It will be a four acre play ground on the lake just for you.
The cottages and cabins are available for yearly Ontario holidays, family reunion accommodations, weekend cottage getaways, fishing trips, snowmobiling adventures, cross country skiers and anyone looking to get away from the every day activities.

Resort Vacation Guide - Dining In or Out - Shopping
The Loralea's lodge has changed over the past 50 years. At one time there were meals served to the public in our dining room that sits 40 people but today its a gathering room for 35 people for special occasions only. Groups that rent the whole resort will use it for playing cards, serving pizza etc.
The cottages are set up for cooking your own meals with every thing you need to have a good meal. The studio cabins are equipped with mini cooking facilities, everything you need except for a oven. All cottages and cabins have their own BBQ's and outside fire pits.
Eating out at restaurants - there are five restaurants all within a 10 minute drive from the resort where you can get good meals. We have restaurant flyers available in the lodge's main lobby or you can see our blog for more information on restaurants to eat at, some including menus.
Halls Market is right across the road from us that has the staples you might need, freshly baked pastries and bread daily or try their own pizza. The Hub which is a gas station, convenience and liquor/beer store is 7 minutes away in Carnarvon.
Within a two minute walk from the resort there is a fish and chip shop with burgers, hot dogs and good old ice cream cones.
For general holiday shopping you have three choices Haliburton, Minden and Dorset, all are within 24 km or 20 minute drive.
